A 57 year-old vice principal of a school, Mr. Taiwo Ajayi, has been caught having carnal knowledge of a 12 year-old female student of Saint Mary’s Girls Grammar School, Ikole Ekiti. The Principal was caught after someone reported an unsual noise in the Principal’s office to the Police.

What a shame! What kind of fatherly figure is that .... !

Pastor Chris Okotie's Ex-Wife's Daughter Attacks Hollywood actress Lupita Nyong'o

Hollywood actress Lupita Nyong'o has been criticized in recent times for speaking against bleaching the skin. This time, she's been attacked by Jessica Henshaw, the daughter of  Pastor Chris Okotie's estranged wife, Stephanie Henshaw.   Lupita Nyong'o was honored with the Best Breakthrough Performance Award at the 7th annual Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon for her work in critically acclaimed film, 12 Years a Slave, and in her acceptance speech, she'd said black is beautiful and condemned bleaching creams after she read a letter from a girl who said Lupita rescued her from buying Dencia’s Whitenicious cream to lighten her skin. Well light skinned Jessica is apparently not happy with Lupita and here is what she has to say:  A lot of women just have very low self esteem. It's not about being light or dark skinned even a man who likes light skinned girls wouldn't date a zombie looking light skinned girl just because she is light skinned which mean we all recognize real beauty no matter the shade it comes in. If you choose to be dark skinned please be dark skinned and happy with it and stop criticizing people for lightening their skin to make yourself feel better. If you are dark skinned and you don't feel beautiful that's your problem. All I'm saying is life is too short not to be comfortable in your own skin.  Tone your skin, in fact bleach it if you want the consequences are on you. If you choose to be dark skinned that's also on you. In my opinion a lot of women who vent at light skinned people only do it because they are insecure if not they would just mind their business and focus on other world threatening issues. How many Nigerians die from skin cancer anyway with all the noise people make about it? I like lupita and I think she's gorgeous but I think she should just shut up with the skin color issue and stop acting so crude. It's a civilized era black people should make better speeches without talking about race and akin tone. A lot of dark skinned women have broken grounds right from time.

Air Search for Missing Malaysian plane officially comes to an End

After over 7 weeks since the disappearance of MH370, authorities have officially called off all air search .To mark the official end of the international search, all the men and women who took part in the search posed for farewell photos with their aircraft  in Perth Australia.

They say an underwater search for the Boeing 777, will still continue for an indefinite amount of time.Prime Minister Tony Abbott has conceded that if anything was left floating after the aircraft had, as experts believe, come down in the ocean, it would by now have become waterlogged and sunk.

Eight nations Australia, New Zealand, Britain, Malaysia, the US, Japan, South Korea and China were involved in the search ,covering more than two million square miles.It is the biggest search in Aviation history.
Despite all the reports of pings from the black box, not a single piece of debris, stretch of oil, or a clue of any kind has been found to pinpoint the location of the plane.

MH370 lost contact on March 8 with 239 passengers and crew.

 Some women took to the streets in Abuja today to protest the missing schoolgirls that were abducted from their school at Chibok on April 14th. Former Education Minister Oby Ezekwesili and front-line Human Rights lawyer Femi Falana are part of the protesters.

Pres. Jonathan cancels FEC to mourn VP Sambo’s brother

President Jonathan has directed that today's Federal Executive Meeting be shelved to enable members of the council attend the 3-day prayer for VP Sambo's deceased brother, late pilot Yusuf Sabo Sambo, who died in a fatal accident on Sunday April 27th along the Bill Clinton Drive, Airport road, Abuja.

Sam Nwaobasi, the Special Assistant (Media) to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation announced the suspension of the meeting.

58year old Yusuf Sambo was a private pilot and is survived by a wife and 3 daughters. He has since been buried according to Islamic rites.

Nigerian pleads guilty to terror charges in the US

33 year old Lawal Olaniyi Babafemi (pictured above) yesterday Tuesday April 29th pleaded guilty to terror charges in a US court.

 The Nigerian citizen is accused of providing material support to an al Qaeda affiliate, and participating in its media and recruitment campaigns, Reuters reports. US prosecutors said that, from January 2010 to August 2011, Babafemi left Nigeria to Yemen twice to meet with some leaders of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, known as AQAP. "The defendant traveled to Yemen to put himself at the disposal of a violent terrorist organization that has repeatedly demonstrated its determination to inflict bodily and economic harm on the US and its citizens,"

A U.S. Attorney said in a statement.Prosecutors also say the al Qaeda leaders paid Babafemi, also known as 'Ayatollah Mustapha'almost $9,000 to recruit English-speaking people from Nigeria that would write for their online magazine called 'Inspire'. He was extradited August last year from Nigeria to the US. Sentencing for the case has been scheduled for August 27th. Babafemi faces a maximum of 30 years in prison. So they are basically locking him for editing and getting writers for the al Qaeda magazine.

Barely a month after losing his beloved cousin, Erelu Funmi Suinner, Dr. Mike Adenuga, the Chairman of Globacom, is bereaved again. This is occasioned by the death of Madam Susannah Okome, the mother his second wife, Titilola. The deceased died a couple of weeks back in the United States of America. It was gathered that the late Madam Okome was a father figure in Titi Adenuga’s life, a. The deceased came to Lagos in the early 1940’s and lived with her husband, the late Pa. Elijah Okome, who was an employee of the United African Company (UAC) Central Accounts Department. Pa. Okome also worked with Kingsway Chemist and equally served as an accountant with Beirut Riyad Bank, Nigeria and Nigerian Arab Bank, where he eventually retired. Mama Okome is survived by, many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. A befitting burial ceremony was held for the deceased last week and her remains were interred at the Vaults and Gardens, Ikoyi

She sufferred an asthma attack and was immediately rushed to the hospital but died before getting to the hospital. 

Mrs Igwe is survived by her husband of 21 years Charles Igwe, three children, an aged mother.

Alison-Madueke gets court injunction stopping reps from probing N10b jet scandal

Minister of Petroleum, Dieziani Alison-Madueke, who has been in the middle of a 10bn jet scandal has secured a court injunction stopping the House of Representatives from further investigating her, Premium Times reports. Alison-Madueke had approached a federal high court in Abuja where she asked the court to restrain the House members to discontinue any probe involving her.

Justice . R. Mohammed who presided over the case, barred the house members or their committees  from summoning her for any further investigations or even ordering her arrest if she failed to appear before the house. According to reports, the court injuction was secured on April 14th but was only made public today as the House intended to commence further investigation on the matter today.

Speaking on the court injunction, the Chairman of the House Public Accounts Committee, Solomon Olamilekan said they were surprised by the court injunction.
"Today is April 28, the committee scheduled to receive the honourable Minister of Petroleum Resources and other agencies that have stake in this investigation. But as we speak, there is a court order, which has been served to the office of the speaker, even though the committee has not gotten the copy of that order. The nature of the court order is simple. They are just restraining us from carrying out our own investigation" he said.Spokesperson of the house,  Zakary Mohammed said the house would obey the court injunction
"As a law abiding arm of government, we will tarry a while and of course take a legal opinion as far as issues are concerned" he saidA member of the House, Samuel Adejare had on  March 20th presented a motion before the house accusing the minister of committing about 500,000 Euros (N130 million naira) monthly to maintain an aircraft for her personal use and those of her immediate family.

The £50 banknote will no longer be a legal tender

just two days, this note will no longer be legal tender check your piggy banks people !

 The £50 banknote featuring a portrait of Sir John Houblon on the back will no longer be accepted as legal tender after Wednesday (30th April).

The Bank of England announced it was withdrawing the note back in January as part of its strategy to combat fraud.

From Thursday 1st May only £50 notes depicting entrepreneur Matthew Boulton and engineer James Watt, which launched in November 2011, will count as legal tender.
