Bolts and knots stolen from new Lagos/Ibadan Rail Track. The Nigerian government has raised alarm concerning the stealing and replacing of clips, bolts and knots on the Lagos/Ibadan rail line.

 Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, Fidet Okhiria, said 5,000 clips and 10,000 bolts as well as knots had been replaced along the rail track. Mr. Fidet said, “You can’t imagine that between Lagos and Ibadan, we have replaced over 5,000 clips and close to 10,000 bolts and nuts on the track and it is not a good thing at all.

 “Without those things on the tracks, accidents can occur. “We know the volume of passengers on a train. So vandalism of rail infrastructure has to stop.” He added that government would still go ahead to extend the Lagos-Ibadan line to Kano in three years.

 Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has appointed Alhaji Ahmed Murtala, an indigene of Kano State, as one of his Special Assistant on Community Relations.


 Murtala hails from Nasarawa Local Government of Kano State and had his primary and secondary school education at St. Brigid Boys School, Mokola, Ibadan and Community Grammar School, Mokola, Ibadan, respectively.

 He (Murtala) will serve as the bridge between the Oyo State Government and the Hausa/Fulani community as well as other northern groups scattered across the state.

"I was ambushed at the National Assembly" — Hadiza Bala Usman, MD NPA, demands arrest of her attackers. Hadiza Bala Usman, Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, has called for the investigation and prosecution of people who allegedly harassed her at the National Assembly premises.

 In a petition to the Inspector-General of police, Senate President and the Director-General of the Department of State Services, Usman explained that she was at the Senate on Tuesday to honour the invitation of the Joint Committee on Navy, Marine Transport and Finance to its public hearing on the safe anchorage area of the Lagos ports. She explained that the committee had invited other parties, which included the Nigeria navy and the Ocean Maritime Solutions Limited (OMSL).

 She alleged that she was attacked by people believed to be “hirelings’ of Idahosa Okunbo, chairman of OMSL. “In the course of the session, Captain (Dr) Idahosa Wells Okunbo of OMSL, having made his submission, stormed out visibly angry breathing fire and brimstone,” the petition read.

THE DEATH OF MY WIFE, HON. MRS SALOME ACHEJU ABUH NARRATES

My attention has been drawn to various stories both offline and online regarding the sorrowful death of my beloved wife, Hon. Mrs Salome Acheju Abuh, on Monday the 18th of November 2019 which happened at Ochadamu Ofu Local Government area of Kogi State Nigeria.

 I am constrained to set the records straight, despite the heaviness and pain I feel at this moment. My wife, a devout Christian, a lover of peace who hates anything violent was a grassroot politician/community leader. She was a women leader for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from the early years of her political career.

 She had her first elective position as an Honorable councilor in Ofu Local Government Council of Kogi State Nigeria between 2003-2007, she contested for Idah Federal Constituency for house of representative in (2007) and was the only woman among the contestants, she was also a Special Assistant on Grassroot Matters to His Excellency Capt. Idris Wada, (the then Executive Governor). She also contested in the last general elections for the State House of Assembly In 2018, all under the PDP platform. Until this unfortunate incidence, she was an active member of the party, a campaign team member for Engr. Dr. Musa Wada and the PDP Woman leader. On Saturday 16th of November 2019, at the Ochadamu primary school polling unit, one Ocholi Edicha in the company of other boys told me that he was going to deal with my younger brother, Gowon Abuh, who is a strong supporter of the PDP, that He (Ocholi Edicha) and others were in the payroll of GYB 4+4. He (OCHOLI EDICHA) further said that this election is for the APC and there is nothing that anyone can do about it.

I politely told him that there was no need for this that we are all brothers, we all drank the same flowing river, went to the same playing ground in the community and we shall still remain in the same community, politics notwithstanding. After casting my vote, I headed home, leaving my wife behind to watch the electoral process. After some time My brother Gowon ran back home to inform me that “ Ocholi Edicha was beating my wife where she was sitting under a shade observing the process and when He (Gowon Abuh) and other people tried to intervene, He (Ocholi Edicha) attempted to stab him Gowon Abuh and he had to run back home”. As we were still talking one Elder Samuel Salami Agbali brought my wife on his motorcycle to our compound and advised that we rush her to hospital.

 It was not easy raising him alone but I had lots of help. His baby sitter never charge me a day of his life. She calls him her grandson. Then my parents came when he was 4 months my parents came back and stepped up and love this boy with all their heart ️. He changed all our lives forever. My sister every morning put out clothes for him before she goes to work like it was her son. So, today went to court and was ordered to return him to his biological dad... come to find out I was not his dad so I have by Thursday to bring him back like a rented toy to his dad.

Yes I’m heart broken and hate the world or her for doing this and destroyed my family and the dad family. This shit hurt like hell but I know I got the support of people out here. I’m sorry I broke my family heart and I do hope he’s in God hand and will forever be my son. Best 10 months of my life.
