Arikana Chihombori-Quao, former Ambassador of African Union has sent a serious warning to the president of China, Xi Jinping, over the Maltreatment of Africans in China, asking him to do something that Africans cannot Tolerate the dehumanization any longer.
In a video she said: “Over the past couple of days, I have received messages, emails, phone calls and video clips of the abuse that is been meted to our fellow African Diaspora living in China.
“I have watched videos of Africans roaming the street with their suitcases in the times with nothing at all, roaming the streets after been thrown out of their hotel rooms simply because they are Africans. I have heard many stories of Africans who are married to Chinese been separated from their husbands or wives simply because they are Africans.
“I have heard stories of Africans been forced to take COVID-19 test simply because they are Africans. In many cases, these individuals did not meet criteria for testing or been quarantined for the specified time period as mandated by the Pandemic Laws of china.
She added that No African has ever disobeyed any Pandemic Laws of China. “Why is it that Africans are been singled out and mistreated? This Situation is not acceptable, it is wrong and it will not be tolerated.
She called out the president of china for allowing his Government to Maltreat Africans while he has enjoyed Good Relationships with African Leaders.
“To president Xi, I say while you have enjoyed the Good relationships with all the African Leaders, it is precisely because of that, you should do the Right thing. You are sitting in the Big Boys chair, and we are asking you to make the Big boys Decisions. We are calling on you to make sure that Africans that are roaming the streets that have been evicted from their homes be allowed to go back home. We are also asking you to make sure that Africans who are roaming the street because they have been thrown out of their hotel rooms be allowed to go back to their hotel rooms.
“As we speak President Xi, May I remind you that we have over 10 Million Chinese residing in Africa and we have welcomed them with open Arms. We have allowed the Chinese to establish themselves and marry happily ever after in our Africa. Why can’t Africans be awarded the same Honour that we have given to your Citizens?
“What is been done to Africans in china is deplorable and the world cannot standby and allow it to continue.
“Well we understand that the Majority of the Chinese are good people, they are good Citizens in china as well as Africa, However sadly among them are a few bad apples. A few bad apples that have chosen to give china a bad name, a few bad apples that are making china look bad in the eye of Africans. It is a situation that cannot be allowed to continue.
She urged the president of China to do what is Right because the Maltreatment of Africans in China can’t be tolerated anymore.
“The Africans are no longer going to tolerate this Abuse from the Chinese or anyone else for that manner. She added that the Africans are enraged and “enough is Enough”
In Conclusion she said: President Xi, the power is in your hands, do what is Right, do what is Just, the Citizens of Africa are saying Enough is Enough. She said.
