CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele  sacked what will the effect be on Dollar to Naira

President Muhammadu Buhari has sacked the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele from his job, according to Intel region.

It was revealed that he may have been sacked in the early hours of Wednesday May 25.

His sack may not be unconnected to his ambition to succeed Buhari at the end of his tenure in 2023.

While there is nothing wrong with being ambitious with a presidential dream, Emefiele however flouted so many laws by declaring his interest to occupy the highest seat of power as a political appointee and wanted to remain as CBN governor without resigning his position to pursue his ambition.

After a public outcry by well meaning Nigerians, calling for his resignation shortly after a group of some faceless farmers purchased the N100m form of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for him and feigning ignorance of it, Emefiele would later approach a Federal High Court in Abuja to prevent the country’s electoral body Independent National Electoral Commission and the board of CBN rom disqualifying him from running for president.

Having failed to get the court to give judgment in his favour, Emefiele approached a Delta State High Court that eventually granted him his wish.

But in a curious twist, he withdrew the suit he filed against INEC and the Attorney-General of the Federation.

Why we demolished Kpokpogri’s house – FCTA

The Federal Capital Territory Administration has revealed why a building owned by Tonto Dikeh's ex-boyfriend, Joseph Egbri, popularly known as Kpokpogri, was demolished this morning May 14.

In an interview with Punch, an aide to the FCT Minister stated that Kpokpogri’s house was demolished because it was built on a major highway.

Also speaking, the Senior Special Assistant to the FCT Minister on Monitoring, Inspection, and Entrustment, Attah Ikharo, said the building didn’t get approval from the necessary agencies.

“His house is on a super highway known as M-16. He doesn’t even have a building plan approval. It’s like somebody who knows that the highway is coming sold the land to him and he just went to build. We have been asking him to stop but he refused.”

Debunking Kpokpogri’s claim, the minister’s aide noted that he was warned against building on the land but he refused.

“In Abuja, before you build, you must get building plan approval. There was no approval at all for him. The place was initially allocated to somebody long ago. So I think the person now sold it to somebody who then sold it to him. When he discovered that it was a road, He didn’t stop but kept rushing the building. The whole building was built in less than a year.

The Federal Housing Authority Managing Director came here twice this week. The MD came the day before yesterday (Thursday) that they didn’t give him approval and the building was illegally constructed.

Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Mathew Hassan Kukah Speaks over the Killing of Deborah Yakubu a student in Sokoto

Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Mathew Hassan Kukah has called on Christians in the country to remain calm and to avoid any action that might ignite civil unrest in the country.

The revered leader made the call in a response to the unfortunate incident that led to the loss of life of a female student, Deborah Yakubu, at the Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto state.

The tragedy occurred following alleged blasphemy against Prophet Muhammad S.A.W made by the female student.

Kukah, added that the government had directed immediate closure of the institution to forestall a breakdown of law and order in the state.

J#ngle justics on Student in Sokoto Condemned

The Muslim Rights Concern, MURIC has condemned in its entirety the killing of Deborah Samuel, a student of Shehu Shagari College of Education Sokoto, over allegations of blasphemy.

This is contained in a statement signed by its Director, Professor Ishaq Akintola, on Friday, describing the killing as outrageous, illegal and unlawful.

“A female student of the Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, Deborah Samuel, was on Thursday killed for allegedly blaspheming against the Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The blasphemed statement was reportedly posted on a WhatsApp group. She was asked to withdraw the statement but she allegedly refused to do so. The school’s security unit and police were overwhelmed by the crowd when they tried to rescue her.

“MURIC strongly condemns this killing and all others that have been happening in Nigeria in recent times. Those aggrieved by the student’s post should have reported her to the security agencies or the Shariah police, the hizbah. Mob killing is archaic and bohemian. It belongs to the Stone Age. Nobody has the right to take the law into his hands.

“The Glorious Qur’an compares the killing of a single person to the killing of the whole of humanity just as it compares the saving of life to the rescue of all homo sapiens (Qur’an 5:32) In like manner, Prophet Muhammad (SAW) himself condemned all acts of violence and advocated peaceful conduct at all times.
