Last Friday, Mrs Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala was caught on tape as she told a reporter for American television, ABC, “I’m tired of the same stories,” after she was cornered for an unplanned interview at the World Economic Forum meeting in Abuja.

Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala explained she was not competent to speak on the issue since she was not the government spokesperson. She did finally make some explanations but cut the reporter off, directing him to the Ministry of Defense when he asked more questions. Some Nigerians have chastised her for making that statement, making reference to how she felt when her mum was kidnapped; a lot more are defending her.
