How can he do this to me?", Amosun lamented! Me: In 2011, Amosun wanted to contest the Ogun gubernatorial election on the platform of CPC (Buhari's Party). It was Asiwaju Bola Tinubu that brought him into ACN and imposed him on Aremo Segun Osoba and other aspirants, as its candidate. Amosun won the gubernatorial election. This did not go down well with Osoba. Eventually, Osoba left ACN for SDP. In 2015, Tinubu and Buhari pulled forces together and formed the APC.

Amosun contested on the platform of APC and won; using Buhari and Tinubu's political influence. Since 2015, leveraging on his assumed closeness to Buhari, Amosun has been scheming against Asiwaju Tinubu; watering down Tinubu's political influence in the Southwest.

He did everything to oust his estranged benefactor from a party he jointly formed with Buhari. He was forming his own political camp against the interest of Tinubu. Tinubu never took offence in Amosun's treacherous activities. He was just looking at him. Tinubu was looking for the right time to hit Amosun hard. The right time came during the APC primaries in Ogun. Amosun wanted to impose a governor, 3 senators (including himself), 9 house of reps and 26 house of assembly members on all the members of the party in the state.

 Tinubu, Osinbajo, Oshiomhole and Osoba resisted his tyranny.

They ensured that party internal democracy reigned supreme. Many of his anointed aspirants lost. Amosun's ego was fatally bruised. He appealed to Buhari to save him from disgrace. Buhari made him understand that imposition cannot be tolerated. Amosun became devastated and turned abusive. He threatened to leave the party. Buhari didn't bat an eyelid over his threat. Now, the next step is blackmail. Who is now a betrayer between Buhari and Amosun?
