PRESIDENT BUHARI'S MESSAGE TO BOLA TINUBU AT 68

President Muhammadu Buhari joins Nigerians and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in celebrating former Governor of Lagos State and National Leader of the governing party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on his 68th birthday, March 29, 2020.

President Buhari salutes Asiwaju’s courage, forthrightness and diligence in providing exemplary and broadminded leadership for the political party, extolling him for particularly taking the path of wisdom in solving problems.

The President believes the former governor has inspired great leadership in Lagos, which is the commercial nerve centre of the country, and extended his large-heartedness to other states and the legislature, steadily providing a ladder for budding leaders to grow and contribute to national development.

President Buhari affirms that Asiwaju’s greatest strength lies in his ability to look beyond religious, ethnic and political stereotyping, embracing the reality of Nigeria as one entity, and extending his warmth, acumen and experience to other parts of the country, particularly in difficult times like the current struggle against COVID-19.

The President prays that almighty God will grant the APC National Leader longer life, strength and good health.

Travel to or from other states should be postponed. All businesses and offices within these locations should be fully closed during this period."

PRESIDENT BUHARI OF NIGERIA ON THE COVID- 19 PANDEMIC SUNDAY 29TH MARCH, 2020

 1. Fellow Nigerians,

 2. From the first signs that Coronavirus, or COVID-19 was turning into an epidemic and was officially declared a world-wide emergency, the Federal Government started planning preventive, containment and curative measures in the event the disease hits Nigeria.

 3. The whole instruments of government are now mobilized to confront what has now become both a health emergency and an economic crisis.

 4. Nigeria, unfortunately, confirmed its first case on 27th February 2020. Since then, we have seen the number of confirmed cases rise slowly.

 5. By the morning of March 29th, 2020, the total confirmed cases within Nigeria had risen to ninety-seven.

 6. Regrettably, we also had our first fatality, a former employee of PPMC, who died on 23rd March 2020. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family in this very difficult time. We also pray for quick recovery for those infected and undergoing treatment.

 7. As of today, COVID-19 has no cure. Scientists around the world are working very hard to develop a vaccine.

 8. We are in touch with these institutions as they work towards a solution that will be certified by international and local medical authorities within the shortest possible time.

 9. For now, the best and most efficient way to avoid getting infected is through regular hygienic and sanitary practices as well as social distancing.

 10. As individuals, we remain the greatest weapon to fight this pandemic. By washing our hands regularly with clean water and soap, disinfecting frequently used surfaces and areas, coughing into a tissue or elbow and strictly adhering to infection prevention control measures in health facilities, we can contain this virus.

 11. Since the outbreak was reported in China, our Government has been monitoring the situation closely and studying the various responses adopted by other countries.

 12. Indeed, the Director General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) was one of ten global health leaders invited by the World Health Organisation to visit China and understudy their response approach. I am personally very proud of Dr Ihekweazu for doing this on behalf of all Nigerians.

 13. Since his return, the NCDC has been implementing numerous strategies and programs in Nigeria to ensure that the adverse impact of this virus on our country is minimized. We ask all Nigerians to support the work the Federal Ministry of Health and NCDC are doing, led by the Presidential Task Force.

 14. Although we have adopted strategies used globally, our implementation programs have been tailored to reflect our local realities.

 15. In Nigeria, we are taking a two step approach.

 16. First, to protect the lives of our fellow Nigerians and residents living here and second, to preserve the livelihoods of workers and business owners to ensure their families get through this very difficult time in dignity and with hope and peace of mind.

 17. To date, we have introduced healthcare measures, border security, fiscal and monetary policies in our response. We shall continue to do so as the situation unfolds.

 18. Some of these measures will surely cause major inconveniences to many citizens. But these are sacrifices we should all be willing and ready to make for the greater good of our country.

 19. In Nigeria’s fight against COVID-19, there is no such thing as an overreaction or an under reaction. It is all about the right reaction by the right agencies and trained experts.

 20. Accordingly, as a Government, we will continue to rely on guidance of our medical professionals and experts at the Ministry of Health, NCDC and other relevant agencies through this difficult time.

 21. I therefore urge all citizens to adhere to their guidelines as they are released from time to time.

 22. As we are all aware, Lagos and Abuja have the majority of confirmed cases in Nigeria. Our focus therefore remains to urgently and drastically contain these cases, and to support other states and regions in the best way we can.

 23. This is why we provided an initial intervention of fifteen billion Naira (N15b) to support the national response as we fight to contain and control the spread.

 24. We also created a Presidential Task Force (PTF) to develop a workable National Response Strategy that is being reviewed on a daily basis as the requirements change. This strategy takes international best practices but adopts them to suit our unique local circumstances.

 25. Our goal is to ensure all States have the right support and manpower to respond immediately.

 26. So far, in Lagos and Abuja, we have recruited hundreds of ad-hoc staff to man our call centers and support our tracing and testing efforts.

 27. I also requested, through the Nigeria Governors Forum, for all State Governments to nominate Doctors and Nurses who will be trained by the NCDC and Lagos State Government on tactical and operational response to the virus in case it spreads to other states.

Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu Coronavirus test is in.

I’m not on self-isolation, says Akeredolu Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has debunked reports that he has gone on self-isolation.

Gov. Akeredolu who appeared at a press briefing Wednesday evening alongside State Commissioner of Police, Undie Adie, said he would not have come out if he were on self-isolation. Talks about Governor Akeredolu’s self-isolation were riffed after he cancelled all official engagements including courtesy calls and other engagements already approved and scheduled for a period of 14 days in the first instance. But he dismissed the reports as tissues of lies.

Governor Akeredolu said the meeting with the Commissioner of Police was to ensure strict compliance with the closure of markets and other directives he issued as ways of curbing spread of the coronavirus. The Ondo Police boss said only those selling essential things like pharmaceuticals, food and water would be allowed to sell.

Adie said his men would ensure total compliance and urged those dealing in non-essential goods to stay at home for the period COVID-19 would be contained. “Life will soon return to normal. Those selling food should ensure there are no crowds. We should endeavour to maintain social distancing.”

His test came in today: THE RESULT IS NEGATIVE

Bishop Oyedepo's Church Released a Statement on Last Sunday's Service After Backlash.

Winners Chapel Release Statement on Last Sunday's Service amidst Coronavirus

“It has become necessary to issue this statement to clarify issues surrounding why Faith Tabernacle, Canaanland, the International Headquarters of Living Faith Church in Ogun State, held church service on Sunday, although with less than half of her regular worshippers,” the statement said.

“There have been diverse responses varying from well-meaning concerns to uncharitable insinuations, misinterpretations, and unfounded allegations that the service was held in deliberate defiance of Ogun State Government ban on high-density gatherings, in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic. Nothing can be further from the truth.

The cleric said his decision to allow the service to hold followed a statement on Saturday by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) that “church members who may gather in church premises, many of whom may not be aware of this regulations should be allowed to worship for the purpose of enlightenment on the subject matter.”

“As we all know, the Church is made up of both literate and illiterate congregants; many are not in touch with any of the modern platforms of communication and this is what we did yesterday. Indeed, the service was devoted entirely to sensitizing and mobilizing members of the Church regarding the danger of this deadly virus and the need to comply with government directives.

“The Bishop has since engaged Ogun State Government at the highest level to clarify this issue and any misgivings and reiterated the full support of the church for the State Government’s efforts to ensure public safety, towards curtailing the spread of this deadly virus. He appreciates the opportunity of direct engagement and the understanding of the government. Cooperation to safeguard public safety is not just a moral obligation or civic responsibility; the church also considers it a spiritual duty.

“For instance, to show how law abiding our organisation is and in compliance with government directives, all our primary and secondary schools across the nation have been directed to close down. Also, our students at Landmark University, Omuaran, Kwara state were sent back home, while Covenant University Students, who are currently on vacation were instructed to stay back at home while awaiting further directives from government.”

Pastor Mike Bamiloye's message on Coronavirus and the world

JUST ONLY ONE PLAGUE! ~Mike Bamiloye Only one Plague, And the World stood still. Only One Plague, And the World Government was humbled.
Only One Plague, and the World Powers got confused. Just Only One Plague, And Everyone scamper for Safety.

Only One Plague, and all Economy shut down. Schools shut down. Offices shut down. Streets were deserted. Only One Plague, And Mecca sent back Worshippers. Jerusalem turned back their Tourists. And Vatican City closed down. Just One Plague.

All Churches are shut down. All Mosques are closed up. All Sports are postponed. All Clubs are sealed. And the Entertainment Industry groaned mournfully. Just One Plague. "Don't shake hands again!" "Don't hug each other again!" "Step away a metre a space" Just One Plague! Before the Plague, There was nations threatening nations for war. There was countries bullying countries. There was wars in Syria, There was revolt in Iran. There was crisis in Turkey. There were protests and Political Unrest.

But the Plague surfaces and quieted Everything. Wars ceased for the Plague Unrest stopped for the Plagues. Olympic is shutting down for the Plague. Everybody ran into their houses. Everyone hiding away for Just One Plague!

BUT WHAT SHALL YOU DO ABOUT PLAGUES UPON PLAGUES UPON PLAGUES When the Trumpet sounds and Jesus Has come and gone with His Own Blood Washed Saints. Things like this are what the Devil plans for the world ahead of us. But I pray that we shall not see all these evils the Devil has arranged for Mankind. I pray we shall escape all these at His Coming Back. #mikebamiloye

The family of the 70years old woman who was suspected to have Coronavirus in Enugu Speaks

Lady who's 70years old mother was suspected to have Coronavirus in Enugu has written an open letter to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

In a letter she tweeted on her personal Twitter handle , she berated the condition of the facilities at the isolation center where the 70years old was kept, saying the Government needs to do better in case of future emergencies.

Read below👇

*Dear RT. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi,*

I am writing on behalf of myself and family in regards to the 70 year old woman suspected of the Covid -19 in Enugu published on Saturday 14th March 2020.
The patient who is my mother unfortunately passed away on Sunday 15th March 2020 having tested negative to the aforementioned virus. She returned to Nigeria on Wednesday 11th March, 2020 after 5 months trip to the UK to visit her children.
Whilst the health workers/officials at ESUTH Colliery Parklane had to take the necessary precautions to protect themselves against this virus, the manner and state at which they treated my mother was inhumane.
My mother was isolated in a dilapidated environment that seems to have been left uninhabitable over a long period of time. The isolation centre in Enugu is an abandoned old section of the hospital, where the grass and debris were being cleared whilst my mother was there.
The staffs at the hospital were unprofessional in the way they handled my mother. She was stigmatized and this made her feel worthless. My mother arrived at the hospital on Friday 13th March, 2020, blood samples were collected on Saturday 14th March, 2020 with results expected on
Monday 16th March, 2020.

As declared by the World Health Organisation (WHO) that this is a global pandemic, one would expect a faster testing time. My mother had to spend 3 days in a dire situation, without adequate health care and unsure of what is happening around her.
If the result for Covid-19 was ascertained on time, my mother would still be here with us, as she would have been moved to a better equipped hospital with the right experts to deal with her underlying illnesses.

My mother died due to the negligence and unpreparedness of the state in putting adequate facilities including staff training in place. The corona virus was detected in December 2019. It is absolutely disappointing that there is no appropriate isolation centre in Enugu State.
After the death of my mother, finding a workable stretcher to move her body was impossible! You would expect any hospital to provide basic facilities such as a stretcher – my mother’s body was carried into the ambulance on a wretched tool.

Sadly Ben Murray Bruce losses his wife of 41 years

He took to Social Media to announce the death of his wife -  "I’m broken. Just lost my beautiful wife to cancer. She was my best friend for 43 years and my wife for 41 years. Cancer is real, but it shouldn’t be a death sentence - awareness, and early detection and treatment are key to survival. I miss her so so much. I’m broken."

Current Situation with Nigerians living in Italy on Coronavirus

A Letter of Peace to You all from Italy

My dear brothers and sisters in Nigeria, I live in Italy - Milan, and
I'm going to share with you and explain to you, "How life is here in Milan" during these difficult times and how I think you in Nigeria should lead your lives in order not to repeat the mistakes of the Italian people.

We are currently in quarantine. We are not allowed to take to the streets. The police are in constant motion and will arrest anyone outside his/her home.

Everything is closed! ... business, malls, and stores. Every street is without any movement.
We are having the feeling of the end of the world !!

Italy, the country of better living - full of life, is completely transformed as if it were a dark country of war.

The situation is something I never thought would ever happen here! People are confused, sad, anxious and helpless, and often do not understand how this reality was imposed on them and when this whole nightmare will end.

The big mistake was that at the start of the first hit people continued to lead their lives as usual and took to the streets for work, entertainment and feeling like a vacation period.

But everyone was wrong and it is same i think would happen in Nigeria if you don't take certain precautionary measures!

I beg you, be careful, this is neither a laugh nor a joke. Protect yourself and loved ones; your parents and your grandparents!

The disease is dangerous for everybody.
About 200 people die here every day, not because medicine in Milan is not good, but because there are no medical places for everyone! Doctors choose who will survive and who will die!

All this is due to the silliness of the citizens at the beginning of the onslaught. They decided to continue their lives as usual, regardless of the new situation!

Please, learn from the *mistakes*! Nigeria is an over populated country that could end up with a great tragedy if everything is taken for granted.

Listen well now ,,, 🙏
-Don't go out into crowded places.
-Don't eat in public places.
-Stay longer at home during this time!
-Listen to the Ministry of Health guidelines.
-Talk a meter away from people.
-Don't come close.
-Don't cuddle or accept a hug from any person.
-Get a complementary and preventive treatment and learn from others' mistakes.
-I recommend that you take vitamin C to boost your immune system.
-Help professionals to prevent the spread of the epidemic.

In Italy, the entire country is isolated, more than 60 million people in quarantine !!

This would have been prevented if people had heard the instructions from the beginning.

Take care of yourself love your life and the life of another, thanks ❤❤

Please you can share the message to loved ones.
