The General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman, has reportedly uncovered the identity of the hands behind blog, Gistlover.

This is coming days after the blogger accused Suleman of having an affair with multiple nollywood actresses and female celebrities.

In his reaction, Suleman denied the allegations, slammed Gistlover and vowed that he would not be coward into silence by a 'nameless' publisher.

He promised to bring the blogger he classified as 'blackmailer' down and end his 'blackmailing enterprise' and bring him to book.

Details on Two Nigerians killed in nightclub shooting in Canada

Two Nigerian men, Tosin and Eze, lost their lives on Saturday following a shooting at a nightclub in the city of Vaughan, Ontario, north of Toronto in Canada.

York Regional Police detectives said officers responded to report of a shooting at ATL Lounge, a restaurant and nightclub in the early hours of Saturday.

According to The Paradise, the police said the shooters escaped the scene before they arrived and no descriptions of the suspects have been published.

Legendary Nigerian juju singer Chief Ebenezer Obey has been thrown into mourning as one of his sons, Olalekan Obey Fabiyi, dies at 48.

Founder of Best of Nollywood Awards, Seun Oloketuyi, made this revelation on his social media page.

Although there is yet to be an official statement regarding the death of Olalekan, reports claim that Olalekan Fabiyi died on Friday and was buried on Saturday.

Bandits To Launch Attacks In Lagos, Abuja, Kaduna, Others - NSCDC Warns

 

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has stated that Boko Haram and Islamic State for West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists have mobilised to attack President Muhammadu Buhari’s home state, Katsina.

Another intelligence report revealed plans by two bandit groups to attack Lagos, Federal Capital Territory, Katsina, Zamfara, Kaduna, and Kogi.

The NSCDC said from the intelligence gathered, terrorists had equipped themselves with dangerous weapons like Anti-aircraft guns and general-purpose machine guns, among others, in preparation for the attack on President Buhari’s home state.

These were contained in a leaked report dated July 25, titled, “Re: Heightened plots by terrorists to stage coordinated attacks in parts of the country,” and sighted by The PUNCH. The report signed by the Deputy Commandant General Controller in charge of Operations, DD Mungadi was addressed to all commands.

The report also hinted at plans by bandits groups to attack Lagos, Federal Capital Territory, Kaduna, and Zamfara states, adding that the Commandant General had directed the state Commandants to put measures in place to avert the attacks.

Nigerian Govt withdrew $1 billion from Excess Crude Account for security — Finance Minister

 

The Nigerian government withdrew $1 billion from the Excess Crude Account (ECA) to fund security amid depleting oil revenue, an official said on Wednesday.

Nigeria’s Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, made this revelation while briefing State House Correspondents at the end of the cabinet meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday.

Mrs Ahmed’s intervention comes amid concerns raised by the reduction in the balance of the ECA.

Reports said Tuesday that the balance in account fell significantly from $35.7 million it was as of June 2022 to $376,655.09 as at July 25, 2022.

Organ harvesting: A Nigerian doctor named Obinna Obeta, residing in the UK has been accused of plotting with former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice, to traffic a homeless man into the UK to harvest a kidney for their daughter.

 

Obeta, 50, appeared before the Bexley Magistrate court on Thursday, July 13, and was charged under the Modern Slavery Act with arranging the travel of a 21-year-old man with a view to him being exploited between August last year and this May.

President Buhari gives education Minister two weeks to end ASUU strike

 

President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu, to resolve the prolonged industrial action embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and other university-based unions.

The President gave the directive Tuesday after receiving briefings from the relevant government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) involved in the ongoing efforts to end the face-off with the university unions.

INEC announces date of 2023 general elections

General elections will be held in Nigeria on 18th February, 2023 to elect:

1. The President/Vice

2. Members of the Federal House of Representatives, and

3. The Senate.

That of the Governors and the State Houses of Assemblies will hold on 4th March, 2023.

Adekunle Gold, has revealed that he begged God to take his life when he was 20 years old during an intense crisis.

The ‘One Woman’ singer in a letter to his fans, on Friday, July 15, reminisces about his childhood battle with sickle cell anaemia and his will to overcome it.

He wrote: “I was born with sickle cell disease. It was life and death, it was physical, mental, financial, you name it, and I went through it all.

“It was tough, painful and frustrating for me. The pains and shivers were unbearable. They (crisis) always came in the night, when my family had no means to transport me to a hospital.”

Adekunle Gold also stated that at some point his family couldn’t afford the hospital bills so he had to endure the pain.

“The most intense crisis I had was at the age of 20, I remember laying in my bed in the middle of the night asking for an end to it all. I begged God to take my life because I could not understand what I did to deserve the pain my body and mind was under.

Nollywood Actress Ada Ameh dies in Delta hospital

She died in Warri, Delta State around 11 pm on Sunday, a source who pleaded anonymity said on Monday morning.

Ameh was said to have been a guest of an oil company toyshop and his family when she suddenly collapsed.

She was rushed to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation’s hospital but passed on before they arrived at the facility.

Princess comedian lays curses on Yomi Fabiyis Offspring over Baba Ijeshas Judgement

 

Grace Amarachi Jimoh, the mother of actor, Yomi Fabiyi's son has countered the curses that comedian, Princess, laid on the actor and his offsprings on Thursday.

Following the sentencing of actor Baba Ijesha for sexual assault of a minor, Princess, the foster mother of the victim had gone live on her Instagram page to rain curses on some persons who championed the course of the convict.

She mentioned Yomi Fabiyi specifically and rained unprintable curses on him and his children.

Jimoh, who is Fabiyi's estranged lover and mother of his son, countered the curses.

In one post, she said, "Heavenly Father, may my child AKOREDE IMOLEAYO FABIYI not fear, for you are with him. As I place my child in your mighty loving hands, give him peace, AKOREDE, you will excel in life, you are protected in God's hand. No curse, no evil will befall you. Amen."

In another post, she lashed out at the comedian, saying, "If you had gone through labour pain,

you would know cursing an innocent child/ren is a no. There are some children that naturally have 'back to sender' spirit. Curse whosoever that

offended you. This children are innocent!!! God made you win. He do no evil."

Baba Ijesha~The judge sentenced him to five years’ imprisonment on count two, three years on count three, five years on count four and three years on count five of the six-count charge he faced.

Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of an Ikeja Special Offences Court today July 14, held that Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju James, alias Baba Ijesha, convicted for defiling a 14-year-old, took his acting too far.

The judge stated this while sentencing Baba Ijesha to 16 years imprisonment for d€filing the 14-year-old foster daughter of comedienne, Damilola Adekoya aka Princess.

“The defendant took his acting too far. Children are frequently preyed on because of their inability to defend themselves. However, the court is not distracted. The defendant abused the position of friendship.

This case brings to the limelight various s€xual assault cases in the society despite the efforts of government and non-governmental organisations to sensitise the public on incessant cases of s€xual assault.

The is very sad. The behaviour of the defendant is appalling, as this shows the length people can go in exhibiting the animalistic urge in them,” she said

Baba Ijesha broke down in tears after the judge pronounced the judgment. The judge sentenced him to five years’ imprisonment on count two, three years on count three, five years on count four and three years on count five of the six-count charge he faced.

She, however, said that the sentencing, which must take effect from July 14, should run concurrently.

Salary Increase: A Professor will get ₦2millions monthly if FG signs agreement - Committee

 

A professor in the Nigerian university system will earn N2 million monthly salary, if the Federal Government accepts the recommendations of its committee on the 2009 agreements with university-based unions.

The committee also recommended varied yearly allowances for professors. The allowances are for postgraduate supervision, field trip, responsibility and hazard, examination/timekeeper and teaching practice/industrial supervision.

Others are honoraria for post-graduate thesis (oral exam), external modulation programmes for undergraduate/post-graduate students, external assessment of readers and postgraduate study grants.

A 37-year old woman, Hellen Tettey Wednesday morning delivered a set of five babies (quintuplets), all female at the St Martin's de Porres hospital at Agomanya in the Eastern region.

The woman who already had five children including a set of twins (also girls) said a scan on her during her anti-natal visits revealed that she was pregnant with triplets, adding that she was surprised but happy with the turn of events.

The mother who lived with her husband in Tarkwa arrived at Agomanya to live with her family pending her delivery only to go into labour after alighting from the vehicle.

Singer Portable reveals he was once paid to insult Tinubu

Controversial singer, Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, has revealed that he was once paid to insult the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Zazu Zeh star made this revelation while reacting to the backlash he received for declaring support for Tinubu ahead of the 2023 general election.

Portable, who disclosed that he once collected money to speak ill of a politician, said the table has now turned, as APC has now paid him to support its candidates.
