Yes I sell SEX TOYS says Bisi Ibidapo Obe a Nigerian Actress.

Star Actress, Bisi Ibidapo Obe, is not a greenhorn in the movie industry. With about 20 years in the make belief world, she has etched her foot prints in the sands of the Yoruba sector of Nollywood. Ibidapo spoke with The Entertainer on her career, sex toys business and other issues.

Excerpts:

How would you describe yourself?

I am Bisi Ibidapo Obe, aka Bisi Omologbalogba. I am an actress with about 20 years experience. I am from Ilesha, Osun State.

How did you come into the movie industry?

I loved acting right from my secondary school days. I was inspired by the late Bimpe Adekola aka Ireti. Though my dad wanted me to go to the university, my love for acting was very strong. In my quest to be an actress, I met an actor popularly called Araosan, who gave me the link to the Odunfa Caucus where I met Taiwo Hassan Ogogo, Yinka Quadri, Abbey Lanre and others. I told Ogogo my mission and he asked me to pay the sum of N350 for registration which I did; today, the rest is history.

After your training, which was the first film you appeared in?

That was Edunjobi, a Yinka Quadri film in which the late Bimpe Adekola played a double role; I acted in the court scene.

A waka pass role?

Yes, but I became popular with the film Ojo Ibi, produced byYemisi Jaiyeola, while Bisi Omologbalogba shot me into the limelight. My first production was Oyinade which was followed by Omojesu and Ijeunagba.

Why haven’t you been prominent in most films released lately?

I have been selective for a very long time. Even when it comes to my own productions, I take my time so as not to do a bad film. I don’t just accept any script because my career is very important to me.

Have you really made money from acting?

We thank God, at least, I can take care of myself.

What has been the highest and lowest fees you have ever charged in the course of your career?

I cannot really say which was the highest and which was the lowest fees I have charged because the Yoruba film industry is communal in nature and we are like one family. But one thing I don’t like about the communal thing is that some of my colleagues and producers capitalise on the nature of our industry to pay actors peanuts. But just the same, it’s still a good and viable industry.

Did your parents discourage or support your acting career?

My dad was very bitter. He even threatened to disown me but my mum supported me. I will always be grateful to the late Bimpe Adekola, who took it upon herself to speak to my dad, who later agreed to my choice of career. Today, my father is proud of me and I have no regrets taking to acting.

What are the challenges of being an actress?

First and foremost, let me talk about the film industry. The industry has become an all-comers affair unlike when we started out those days and we had caucuses. In those groups we underwent training. For example, during my days at Odunfa, I trained for about three years before I could play a waka pass role. But nowadays, everybody you come across has turned producer. As for the challenges, I thank God for making me an actress and I can boast that all that I have is through acting and there are no regrets whatsoever. But the only disadvantage is that we don’t enjoy our privacy and we are the target of journalists and others. However I have no regrets.

From your experience, would you say there is sexual harassment in the movie industry?

I don’t believe in sexual harassment. People talk about the movie industry because we are in your faces. Do you know what happens in the universities and hospitals? Do you know what happens among doctors and nurses? If you date your boss it’s no big deal as long as it’s a mutual thing. But as for me, I have never experienced sexual harassment.

Is it true that actresses’ marriages don’t last?

Like I said earlier, because we are in your faces, our marriages are reported whenever there is problem. If a woman walks out of a marriage, you don’t need to blame her because she might be having life threatening issues. So, it’s better for people to look inwards and investigate before concluding that actresses don’t make good wives. I’m yet to get married; I don’t know how matrimony feels like. For me, I will take my time before going into it and I pray God to give me the bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh.

How soon are you getting married?

I want to get married but when is what I don’t know. For me, God’s time is the best.

Who is your kind of man?

My prayer is let God choose for me from anywhere. It could be from the movie industry or anywhere else because I don’t want to go into marriage and get out of it within a short period. I want my man to take me as Bisi and not Omologbalogba, the actress.

Do you have crush on any Nigerian star?

No, it could sound funny but it’s the truth. I love R. Kelly and my friends know that I buy his CDs.

Why did you diversify into boutique business?

Since I don’t go to location all the time I need other businesses that will bring some cash for me to make ends meet. For your information, this is not the only business I do; I am also into supply among other things. The reason for going into boutique business was because I discovered that those living around Magodo travel far and wide to buy pants, bras and other things and this culminated in my decision to locate this kind of a store here.

Why did you include sex toys?

I did not open a sex toyshop. I sell men and women under wears and a few other things. I also have a section for body massage, body polish and other things that are related to that. On the issue of sex toys, I have this to say, if I sell sex toys so what? Nigerians are a bunch of hypocrites. They make issues out of non-issues. When I travelled to London I saw some newly wedded couples buying sex toys but back here, Nigerians believe that those that buy sex toys are harlots. In fact, there is dignity in the use of sex toys.

Do people patronize you?

I am not into the sales of only sex toys but there is a big market for them.

Is selling sex toys based on your personal experience or your friend’s?

No.

Is it true that Nigerian men are not romantic and that is why women buy sex toys?

I don’t know anything about that. But I do know that most of those who buy sex toys are couples. I have seen quite a number of couples walk in to buy these sex toys here.

Where do you see Bisi Ibidapo-Obe in the next 10 years?

Nice place by God’s grace. I am moving higher and higher; as long as there’s, life there’s hope.

There is the belief that most actresses, especially those using flashy cars do some runs aside acting. How true is this?

You don’t expect us to burn our candles at both ends. We get money from what we do which is acting. Ibiti eniyan ba ti nse lo ti nje (You eat from the labour of your hands).

Any plan for your own production soon?

Yes, and that would be very soon

Tinubu former Governor of Lagos State List of Alleged Properties List EXPOSED..

The choice properties scattered across the country runs into billions of Naira while Some are Hungry

1. 4, Oyinkan Abayomi (formerly Queens) Drive, Ikoyi: A 5-bedroom detached house on one acre of land which was originally the Lagos State Governor’s guest house since 1979, but which now belongs to Tinubu. The certificate of occupancy of the property valued at N450 million was signed and released to him by Fashola in 2007 shortly after he assumed office.

2. Tinubu’s residence at 26 Bourdillon Road, Ikoyi was initially falsely presented as Oando Plc Guest House. Later, he purportedly bought it from Oando, and used public funds to rebuild and renovate it. The Lagos State Government bought the property and paid an undisclosed sum to him and thereafter gave the property back to him under the bogus Pension Bill he signed to law shortly before he left office in 2007. The property is worth over N600 million.

3. The annex of the Lagos State Guest House in Asokoro, Abuja was bought by the State Government in 2006 for N450 million, purportedly to protect the main house from security breach. Shortly after Tinubu left office, the property was transferred to him under the pension plan he signed into law before leaving office.

4. The 250-hectare land valued at about N35billion and strategically located at the Ajah junction on Lekki Road was initially meant for a General Hospital for the people of Eti-Osa Local Government but was stolen by Tinubu and handed over to Trojan Estate Ltd – a company owned by Deji and Wale Tinubu – to develop as Royal Garden Housing Estate at the expense of the taxpayers of Lagos.

5. The 1,000 hectares of land valued at about N75billion located at Lakowe near Abijo at Ibeju-Lekki Local Government and given to Lekki Concession Company (LCC) which is partly- owned by Tinubu and Fashola and being developed as golf course and housing estate by Assets and Resource Management Ltd (ARM) as ADIVA project.

6. The prime land of 157 hectares with 2.5km of Atlantic beachfront valued at about N10billion and stolen by Tinubu from the communities of Siriwon, Igbekodo, Apakin, etc in Ibeju-Lekki Local Government and given to Ibukun Fakeye – his crony to build a golf course and luxury villa with little or no compensation to the villagers. In addition, Tinubu paid $20million (N3billion) out of public treasury to Ibukun Fakeye to commence the project in late 2006. Fashola has since released additional funding for this project, which is not owned by the state government.

7. The 14-hectare Parkview Ikoyi Estate foreshore land reclaimed by Lagos State Government is now owned by Bola Tinubu.

8. While in office, he allocated to himself the former Strabag yard beside the Lagos State Secretariat at Alausa, Ikeja. The property is now being developed into a shopping mall as big as the Palms in Lekki. This is public property brazenly stolen and now owned by Tinubu, aided by Fashola.

9. The choice property at Lekki-Epe road on which he built and owns the multi-billion naira Oriental Hotel and the extension of multi-storey car park beside it. Also, the multi-level recreation centre by Mobil in Oniru Estate on Lekki-Epe road jointly owned with ARM and Tunji Olowolafe. All these assets valued at over N25billion were obtained without paying a kobo to the Lagos State Government.

10. Tinubu and Fashola sold the following prime Lagos properties to their personal friend and front – Prince Dipo Eludoyin at very ridiculous prices:

• The 3.8-hectare of land of Lagos State Fisheries office in VI (beside the Institute of Oceanography) valued at N3billion.

• The fishery landing jetty at Badore (where the Ilubirin fishermen were to be relocated) valued at N500million

• The entire Ogudu foreshore scheme initially earmarked for a low-cost housing scheme valued at N5billion

• The Ilubinrin housing estate (which used to house Lagos state civil servants and judges up till 2007) valued at N2.5billion.

• The former Julius Berger yard at Oko Orisan, Epe valued at N450million.

11. Tinubu raised a loan of N4.7billion on Eko Akete project for which nothing was achieved before he turned around to sell the property to his Chagouri friends of Chagouri & Chagouri and Hitech Construction Ltd at a ridiculously low price at the expense of the taxpayers of Lagos.

12. Tinubu applied to personally purchase the Federal Secretariat building while in office. When he couldn’t get to buy it, he directed Fashola to stop the eventual owner of the complex to develop it. The complex is presently wasting away courtesy of the Lagos State Government.

13. It took several months of horse trading and underhand payments before Fashola could allow the new owners of 1004 flats to redevelop the complex.

14. Several other buyers of Federal Government properties and developers of properties in Ikoyi, Victoria Island and Government Reservation Area Ikeja were forced to succumb to the outrageous demands of Tinubu, Fashola, Commissioner Abosede and other officials of the Lagos State Physical Planning Ministry and were made to pay ridiculous amounts to private accounts before their redevelopments were approved. Those who refused or were unable to pay could not develop their properties. This is a major economic strangulation of property developers and has contributed largely to the skyrocketing rent in Ikoyi, VI and Lekki axis.

15. Tinubu converted all the plots of land where Lagos Polytechnic was located at Ikosi near the old toll gate. He chased away the Polytechnic in 2006 and went ahead to locate the choice plots to himself, his cronies and political associates. The headquarters of Television Continental (TVC), which is owned by him, is located there. He deprived the youths of Lagos of decent education because of his greed.

16. Tinubu singlehandedly sold the prime land on Aboyade Cole, Victoria Island which was recovered from some allotees, to UACN Properties Plc. The amount of proceeds was shrouded in secrecy.

17. Eludoyin, fronting for Tinubu, built the estate directly opposite Goshen Beach Estate in Lekki area.

18. Tinubu’s wife, Remi Tinubu, built the massive New Era Foundation youth camp at the junction of Eleko, off the Lekki-Epe express road, with Lagos State funds and has now converted it to personal use.

19. Tinubu owns the Fara Park Estate and the Beach Wood Estate both in Lekki.

20. The Critical Care unit at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) in Ikeja, built and equipped with state funds, is now owned personally by Tinubu. He has put one Dr. Sikiru Tinubu, (a supposed cousin of his) to run the outfit. It is run as a private unit and the proceeds are pocketed by the duo. The unit charges its users exorbitantly and most Lagosians can hardly afford to pay its high charges. Much of the revenue is derived from fees paid by the State Government for patients referred there by its General Hospitals.

21. Several prominent Nigerians in the judiciary, police, INEC, and other sensitive agencies have obtained prime land from former Governor Tinubu and incumbent Governor Fashola over the years without paying a kobo. Many of them had turned around to sell the land to third parties at substantial profit. Many top officials in the police, INEC and the judiciary who participated in the 2003 and 2007 elections and tribunals in states where Tinubu has interest were compromised with parcels of free prime Lagos land and cash. If the Lagos State Land’s Bureau could publish the names and identities of beneficiaries of land allotees from 2000 to date, the scandal that will result is better imagined. Gbenga Ashafa, now a Senator, and Mrs. Awofisayo were the conduits through which these acts were being perpetrated. Both were also personally involved in various dubious land transactions on their own.

22. Prime land and properties have been used to pay off public officials who are personally close to Tinubu and Fashola for “jobs well done” or for being privy to sensitive information, notably:

(a) Dele Alake, former Commissioner for Information and Strategy, was sold a whole house on Alexander Road, Ikoyi where he lived as official quarters at a give-away price.

Emmanuel Emeka a Six year old boy rescued from a neighbor who Kidnapped him.

A six-year-old boy, Emmanuel Emeka, who was rescued from a suspected kidnapper on Wednesday in the Ikorodu area of Lagos, has recounted how he was lured, seized and tied up by his abductor.

Emmanuel said the suspect, identified as Mama Ifunaya, who was a neighbour, lured him into her room, strangled him, covered his mouth with clothes before tying him up with rope to prevent him from screaming.

He said,

“I wanted to draw water and take my bath before going to school when she told me to come. I went because I know her; she is Mama Ifunnaya. But when I got to her side, she threw me inside her room… she closed her net. She then tied me and put me inside a box.I wanted to shout, but I could not shout properly. I heard my mummy’s voice when she was looking for me, but I could not shout. She (pointing to the suspect) is a wicked person.”
Our correspondent observed that Emmanuel’s neck had marks, while his eyes were bloodshot.PUNCH Metro on Thursday spoke with the victim’s mother, Mrs. Gloria Emeka, who explained that she never suspected her neighbour because while she was searching for her child, the suspect was in her room with her children praying and shouting “holy ghost fire.”She said she later discovered it was a ploy to prevent her from hearing Emmanuel’s screams. She said,

“On Tuesday morning, I was preparing Emmanuel to go to school. He told me he wanted to fetch the water from the well.I left him and went inside the kitchen where I was cooking But what I heard next was the muffled voice of my child and I ran out.I began shouting his name, but I didn’t see him. I, however, observed that my neighbour’s door was slightly opened and I entered. I met her children and asked them if they saw Emmanuel, but they said no.I looked everywhere without a trace of my son. People joined me and we searched the surroundings, but we couldn’t find him.My landlady’s son entered the well to see if he fell into the well, but he came out and said he couldn’t find anything.”
While this was on, Mama Ifunaya was said to have sent her four kids out of the house.
PUNCH Metro gathered that more people joined the search party, while Mama Ifunaya stayed in her mini-flat apartment.
“Later, we saw her leaving the house with a box on her head. She said she was travelling. It was my landlady that challenged her why she could go out when everybody was busy searching for Emmanuel.
“The landlady asked her to stop, but she suddenly increased her pace and started running. That was how the landlady shouted, ‘kidnapper, kidnapper’, and people ran after her.”
The box was said to have fallen, and when it was opened, the missing boy was found in it.

Our correspondent learnt that a mob would have lynched her but for the intervention of policemen from the Ipakodo Police Division, Ikorodu.

She reportedly confessed that a prophet sent her to bring the child.
A police source told our correspondent some witnesses said more than 15 receipts were recovered from the victim. The receipts were said to have shown payment for some past unidentified jobs.

Ritualists’ den said to be owned by pastor Ernest Nwankwo uncovered in Lagos

A ritualist den owned by one pastor Ernest Nwankwo, the General Overseer of Holy Family Ministry a.k.a House of Mercy was yesterdayJune 25th uncovered at Ogolonto area in Ikorodu, Lagos, with 8 victims rescued.

According to Vanguard, the den was discovered after a failed attempt by a woman identified as Mrs Rosemary Chukwu, a member of Pastor Nwankwo's church, to kidnap her neighbor's 7 year old son, Emeka Emmanuel to the den for rituals.

Sources in the area said around 6.30 am yesterday, Mrs Chukwu lured the little boy who was on his way to fetch water from a well down the road and took him to her house where she locked him in the toilet. To keep her neighbors from hearing the little boy's screams for help, Chukwu then instructed her own children to begin a prayer session which they did, shouting on top of their voices.

Trouble however started when the boy's mother who stays four buildings from Mrs Chukwu raised alarm after she could not find her son. A search for the young boy began which Mrs Chukwu also partook in. Minutes into the search, Mrs Chukwu was said to have excused herself, went into her house and then came out with a box on her head, saying she was travelling. Suspecting foul play, some of the area boys instructed her to put down the suitcase which was opened and the unconscious body of the 7 year old boy was discovered.

A resident of the area, Oyetoye Gbemi who spoke with Vanguard said the area boys descended on her and she confessed it was her pastor who sent her
"She told us she was travelling to the village. But one of thearea boys who was among the search party, ordered his colleagues to search the box. Immediately she heard that, she flung the box away and took to her heels. We all suspected something was amiss. When the box was opened, Emmanuel was found inside, half dead. The area boys descended on her and stripped her naked. On interrogation, she said her pastor, the General Overseer of Holy Family Ministry a.k.a House of Mercy, asked her to bring the boy. The area boys followed her to 319, Lagos Road, Ikorodu, where the church is situated, where they saw her pastor waiting for her. But on sighting the crowd, he took to his heels. But for the arrival of Policemen from Owutu division, the woman would have been lynched. The angry mob also attempted to set the church ablaze but were also prevented by the policemen. They, however, succeeded in torching some parts of the property.” he said
In the process of chasing the fleeing Pastor and burning some part of the church building, area boys forced open a door to a building at 7, Oshodi Street, which was directly at the back of the church building and owned by Pastor Ernest. To everyone's amazement, men and women, eight in number, chained and looking frail were found in the building. The captives upon interrogation said they were kidnapped from various places like Ogun, Anambra, Bayelsa and Oyo states.

One of the captives, a 50 year old woman said she was kidnapped while returning from a night vigil. One of the rescued victim, 52 year old man pictured above without a shirt said he was a commercial bus driver and was kidnapped two years ago.

Residents in the area said the building owned by the pastor had always been under suspicion as no one ever saw anyone coming out or going in during the day. They said most of the activities carried out in the building is usually done at night.
Police sources confirmed the arrest of Mrs Chukwu while her pastor is currently on the run.
