The Catholic Church has suspended Rev. Fr. James Anelu for banning Igbo songs in his parish, Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ewu-Owa Gberigbe in Ikorodu, Lagos.
It was alleged that the priest chastise choristers who sing Igbo songs when he is officiating Mass in any parish in the South-South and South-West.
Reverend Father James Anelu was said to have argued that Igbo people tend to dominate the church everywhere you find them and as such must be contained.
